Life With Fionny

Last night, I watched a Nova program on dogs.  It was fascinating, and explained how scientific experiments have proven that dogs are uniquely adapted to respond and relate to humans.  No big surprise to a dog lover, but I respect the scientific method especially when it “proves” what I can feel intuitively.  I highly recommend the show, available on Netflix.  Look it up here:  http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/nature/dogs-decoded.html

Fionn was particularly interested in the show, as it had closeups of dogs and plenty of dog voices in the background.  He watched the whole thing with me and wandered off when it was over, so I hope he learned something.

This morning, we took off on another winter walk, under softly falling snowflakes.  He was in a bouncy mood, so happy to be with me and surveying his kingdom.  When Fionn is particularly happy and excited he bounces a lot.  He is like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, with springs in his legs.  You just can’t help but smile when he is communicating his joy.

Here he is, posing politely with his pond and his new house.

Kelty likes to watch dogs on TV, too. She perks up whenever she hears a bark or a howl.
