The moon has been so bright the last few nights! When I look out the window, it looks like there is a spotlight shining from the woods and there are long sharp shadows from the house and the trees. It is a little spooky.
I guess it is partly because it is unusual in Michigan to have such clear skies in February. Fionn is able to clearly see any animals moving outside or even leaves skittering across the snow, and it is all very exciting for him. He has taken on a new habit of whining in a soft yowly voice, more like a hound. I guess it got our attention and we laughed so he decided it was an effective communication method. Now I am having a hard time getting him to shut up.
Today, there is a long band of snowy weather moving up from the southwest and there are predictions of blizzard conditions on the way by tonight. The wind has already picked up and has begun a low roar across the windows. We have to drive to some appointments about 50 miles away tomorrow morning, so I hope we don’t have a problem.
This week on the house-building front, the painter is retouching the inside trim that was applied last week. The vinyl tile floors were finished late last week and I am happy with them. The stairs have been delivered and are being stained and painted before they are put in to replace the temporary treads. I picked out the painting scheme for the stairs based on ideas I found on Houzz.com. If you have never looked out there, you might find it fun. It is kind of like Pinterest.com, but is just pictures of neat house design and decorating.
It’s still going slowly, but like in the fable of the Tortoise and the Hare, “I may be slow, but I’m sure!”
