Frozen Rain Chain

Our poor rain chain has been taking on the drips from the snow melting off our black shingles, but it hasn’t been above freezing for weeks so it is building a nice thick coat.  Earlier this week, the chain had an amusing tilt to the east due to the pressure of the west wind.  Now, it is curving to the west  and has doubled in girth.

We’ve never had a rain chain before, so I do not know if there are any dangers in the ice buildup.  For now, it is just interesting and amusing.  I may learn that it was something to cause concern but we shall see.
