Winter Art Project… and Waiting.

My dear husband came up with a really fun project to share with some friends from church.  We gathered for French wine and cheese, and then sat down with nine small canvasses and acrylic paints to each create one ninth of Van Gogh’s famous painting of sunflowers.  Each person exercised his own style and interpretation, and the finished product fit together into a frame to form a playful re-creation of the original.

This has been a good distraction while we wait in suspense for a big family event.  My daughter-in-law is having a baby today!  At least, we all hope it is today because a long drawn-out labor is exhausting for the parents. They are being so brave and calm, I am quite proud of both of them.  I keep looking for things to keep my mind occupied while I wait for the next status report.  They are becoming a family, and as an added bonus, here am I becoming a Grandma!
